PATRICK McCALLION

More Than Music

Acting

Patrick has acted both on and off screen in various productions, plays, musicals and films. Patrick's first feature film is new RStudios production 'Oscar', a drama to be premiered at The Hebden Bridge Picture House in late April of 2011 (see the trailer, right). Patrick's real passion for acting, however, lies on the stage. He has performed in many amateur musicals including Greace (Danny Zuko), Little Shop Of Horrors (Seymour) and West Side Story (Baby John) at the Halifax Victoria Theatre.

' Funny but gruesome in parts, it follows the story of Seymour Krelborn, played by outstanding 16-year-old Patrick McCallion'

- Gordon Sampson, Halifax Courier. (Praise for Little Shop Of Horrors)

Writing & Directing

Patrick is also an avid script writer. He has written a succesful play, 'Acting Out' which was performed by younger students at his school, North Halfiax Grammar. He also directed this show, and it recieved great praise from staff, students and parents alike. Patrick is also in the process of writing six thirty minute episodes about the music industry to be uploaded to the internet in Summer 2011. This show is currently working under the title of 'PROJECT 1' but the name will change nearer the time. Patrick also plans to direct and star in this show.

Promotions

In 2010, Patrick founded Big Ass Promotions, a charity music promotions company based in Calderdale. He is CEO & Managing Director of this company and works alongside business director Billy Painter, putting on music events throughout the year. The first Big Ass Promotion was The Big Ass Hebden Bridge Christmas Concert 2010 at The Trades in Hebden Bridge. Between the live show and the online live web feed, Big Ass Promotions helped make lots of money for The Laura Crane Youth Cancer Trust. All in all, Big Ass Promotions has currently raised 972 quid for charity. Patrick is also a member of The Live 'Eath Committee.
